Looking to hire: Principal Associate

Team: Corporate & Commercial 

PQE: 6-8 years

Responsibilities: 

  • Drafting, review and negotiation of transaction documents (such as SSA, SPA, SHA, BTA, term sheet, etc).
  • Working in PE/VC/M&A matters (unlisted space, experience in listed space is also welcome such as open offers, delisting, etc.)
  • End to end closing of transactions.
  • Strong understanding of corporate laws such as Companies Act, 2013, SEBI laws (such as LODR, PIT regulations) and foreign exchange laws.
  • Lead due diligences.
  • Effectively communicating with the client.
  • Pick up new areas of law and adaptability to various work streams such as advisory, drafting, negotiations, corporate litigation.

PQE: 1-2 years

Responsibilities :

  • Handling arbitration proceedings, including domestic and international arbitrations.
  • Drafting pleadings, statements of claim/defense, evidence, and written submissions.
  • Conducting legal research on arbitration laws and related legal issues.
  • Coordinating with clients, experts, and co-counsels as required.
  • Assisting in court proceedings related to arbitration (e.g., Section 9, 11, 34, 37 applications under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act).
  • Managing case files and maintaining detailed records.

Requirement:

  1. Prior experience in arbitration (institutional or ad hoc) preferred.
  2. Strong legal research and drafting skills.
  3. Familiarity with arbitration laws, procedures, and case strategy.
  4. Good oral and written communication skills.
  5. Courtroom exposure in litigation matters will be an added advantage.

  • Experience working with a Contract Lifecycle Management (“CLM”) tool is preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in translating contractual language for various departments and stakeholders within the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiatives, as well as handle projects based on the requirements of the legal team and business stakeholders.
  • Must be based in Bangalore or willing to relocate to Bangalore.
