Team: International Trade and Customs
PQE: 0 to 2 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on international trade laws, customs regulations, export-import policies, and trade remedies (anti-dumping, countervailing duties, and safeguards), FTA/RTAs
- Assist clients with compliance under Indian customs laws, Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), and WTO regulations.
- Draft and review trade agreements, contracts, and legal submissions related to cross-border transactions.
- Represent clients in trade disputes, investigations, and proceedings before authorities such as the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Customs Authority, appellate tribunals, High courts and Supreme Court.
- Conduct research and analysis on emerging trade policies, sanctions, tariffs, and global supply chain regulations.
Qualifications:
- LL.B. degree from a recognized university. Any additional qualification such as Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant will be preferred.
- 06-18 months of post qualification experience in International trade, customs related work.
- Basic understanding of Bilateral and Multilateral Trade Arrangements, Trade Remedies, Indian customs laws, FTP, and WTO frameworks.
- Excellent research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
