Paralegal Assistant Opportunity With NLSIU

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and conduct monthly legal-aid camps at the Matia Detention Centre, Assam.
• Coordinate with the Assam Legal Services Authority and Goalpara District Legal Services Authority.
• Collect relevant information from detainees to identify individuals requiring legal representation.
• Assist in initiating legal cases based on information gathered during legal-aid camps.
• Support translation of documents.
• Assist in training programmes for lawyers and paralegals.

Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Law or Social Work, or significant paralegal experience.
• Fluency in Assamese, both written and spoken.
• Experience working with Legal Services Authorities (DLSA/SLSA) is desirable.

Duration: One year, extendable based on performance.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and University norms.
